Unfortunately, Pizzas Aren’t The Only Thing Being Delivered to Ridgemont High Anymore

Security issues on educational campuses are an extremely hot topic today. Suggestions range from arming teachers to building fortresses around the schools. There are some who believe that the media actually promotes the violence with extensive coverage in the local and national news. We believe the most successful security solutions lie in the middle ground and can be achieved very simply and effectively. |
Today’s
school administrators are facing
the difficult task of providing a safe environment
for students on a limited budget. When a lapse in
security occurs the school district and individual
administrators are subjected to easy criticism.
Hindsight evaluation from a microscopic viewpoint seems
to be the most common approach in today’s society.
There is no reason to be overwhelmed
by security issues today. Simply stated, security at
schools is easy when compared to other enterprises. Let
me state that once more: school security is easy when
compared to other enterprises.
Schools have a
unique advantage when developing security and safety
plans, based on their structure and environment. The ability to
deny building access, limit access to hallways, search
lockers, use detection devices, control vehicle access
to the property and administer suspensions and
expulsions for behavior are exceptional tools.
The most common problems are
vandalism, drugs, fights, bullying and truancy. Our
experience has shown that many problems at educational
facilities are perpetrated by non-students on campus;
addressing this issue is a big step in the right
direction.
In a perfect world we would not need to be concerned with security issues. However, we do not live in a perfect world and even more distressing is the fact that security needs to be addressed within a budget that has more red than a fire truck. We can help with innovative strategies and educational programs to assist within your budget.
